A big thank you to all the happy A Vanners who came along on the Goldfields Adventure
We had 8 days and 6 nights of fun and good humour.Four nights in caravan parks and two bush camps.
We all arrived in Merredin and had a very long happy hour and sorted out how we were going to do everything followed by a BBQ .We all made our way to Kalgoorlie. When we arrived there was some confusion as Irene had managed to park her sport van in three caravan bays at once which lead to some head scratching and a few laughs. Thanks Irene you made the trip all the better with your good humour. We all went off and did our own thing and seemed to meet up at the bordello tour at 3pm. We all enjoyed that though we had a few flushed red faces when we left.A really good dinner in the Exchange Hotel that night enjoyed by all.
The rain came in and did not stop we had to rearrange the trip as all the gravel roads where closed We bush camped at Niagara dam in full sun shine a very nice spot we arrived 1pm set up camp we found rocks for a fire ring. Thanks to Arthur & Jan for 8 big bags of fire wood and the spuds. Graeme and Colin put up wind breaks and did anything that had to be done thanks for everything guys. Glenys supervised the camp oven and her team from hells kitchen made us all a beautiful dinner. Thanks to all of you.Happy hour started 3pm that day I got the guitar out and we all enjoyed watching Irene do wild thing and these boots where made for walking in her diamond encrusted wellys Graeme had his Frank Spencer outfit on and played the part very well it was good fun watching Glenys keep him under control every one joined in and we sat and around the open fire till late that night too full to go to bed.
Next morrning headed off to Kookynie pub for a look and then on to Gwalia ghost town and mine.We left Leanora the next morning and the dirt roads were open so 6 vehicles went to beautiful Lake Ballard and were able to walk out and say hello to the statues we drove up to Snake Hill look out.Others went to Orabanda for lunch.
We all met up for our last night at a bush camp off the Great Eastern Hwy.We got the fire going with what was left of Arthur's wood and enjoyed good humour and fun and the rest of Irene's giant marsh mallows until about 9pm as it started to rain so off we went to bed with the pitter patter on the roof we all had a good sleep.Everyboady joined in and helped with the whole trip and we all made it home safely the next day no one got bogged or broke down.We did about 2000ks and had fun all the way.
Thank you all cheers Tony & Pauline
